Open the CDS application and ensure that both the CDS device and the POS device are connected to the same network. Select the available POS device from the connection screen, send the connection request, and approve the request on the POS device. Once the request is accepted, the CDS will begin displaying customer-facing order information.
Both connection methods are designed to provide reliable communication. Stability primarily depends on network quality, device performance, and system configuration. On iOS devices, TCP/IP is the recommended communication method.
Yes. The CDS and POS devices must be connected to the same network so they can discover each other and exchange customer-facing order information in real time.
No. A P2P (Peer-to-Peer) connection does not require internet access. However, both the CDS and POS devices must be connected to the same local network and be able to communicate with each other.
A socket connection in CDS is a real-time communication method used primarily on Android devices. It enables the CDS screen and the POS device to exchange customer-facing order information instantly over the same network.
For the best customer experience, the CDS app should remain active and visible on the display device. Running the app in the background may be restricted by the device's settings and could affect real-time updates.
